Transcending corporate boundaries to provide users with greater ease of use
I believe this joint effort by Canon, Ricoh, Fuji Xerox and Seiko Epson, which transcends corporate borders for the benefit of customers, has enormous significance. As network equipment grows increasingly prevalent, demand is strong for office equipment that offers all users standardized, straightforward operation, regardless of brand.
I encourage the CRX Project's active pursuit of easy-to-use, easy-to-understand user-interface design for our customers, and hope that these efforts continue to bear fruit.

Making "usability" for the customer the top priority
A device cannot be described as easy to use if each manufacturer has a different version which is unfamiliar to the user.
With the increasing availability of equipment that can be used anytime anywhere and also with products from different manufacturers, the need for companies to harmonize their products to avoid customer confusion and improve usability becomes more important.
Removing barriers across companies and making guidelines for product design that are customer orientated, is very valuable.
I believe the success of this project will make an important contribution to society.
Four companies, Canon, Ricoh, Seiko Epson and Fuji Xerox are exploring ease of use designs from users' viewpoint beyond the boundaries of corporations. Providing "ease of use" of products for anyone, anytime, anywhere is our responsibility as manufacturer.
By making activity outcomes open as guidelines and introducing them into each company, common "basic ease of use" should be realized.
I expect to try to improve by learning from others in the CRX Project, which looks directly at the sites of customers.
We consider Seiko Epson should make a positive impression on customers by unique creation, and would like to be absolutely necessary company for them. However, each company should not make them confused by self-approving in variously used situation. Considering that, CRX Project is very significant to collaborate between four competing companies to realize consistent “usability”. Through the project, I am expecting to pursue “usability” from customers’ viewpoint and make a great result.
