Launch of CRX Project
Launched by Canon, Ricoh, and Fuji Xerox in the 1st SICE Symposium on Usability Research and Evaluation under the theme of a consistent user interface for copying machines.

The first anecdotal presentation of project activities
Presented "User-oriented User Interfaces of Office Automation Equipments" in the 10th SICE Symposium on Usability Research and Evaluation by Canon, Ricoh, Fuji Xerox, and the University of Tsukuba. Supported by NTT Advanced Technology Corporation.

Publication of Guidelines Ver.1.0
The activities and achievements so far were organized as"CRX Project User Interface Guidelines Ver.1.0". Ver.1.0 was revised in May 1998 and July 1998 as Ver.1.1 and Ver.1.2. Ver.1.2 was distributed to Japan Business Machine Industry Association (present JBMIA: Japan Business Machine and Information System Industries Association) and other associations in October 1998.

Good Design Award
Good Design Award
The CRX Project applied for Good Design Award 1999 as a part of the activity for a consistent user interface in the industry, and obtained the G-Mark.

Seiko Epson joined the project
With the expansion of the theme to computer devices, Seiko Epson joined the project.
Establishment of the website
The CRX website was established, providing free download service of the Guidelines.
Creation of posters
Creation of posters
Created and distributed posters to the industry and educational institutions to inform the CRX's concepts of universal design.

Presentation at TC Symposium 2001
The standardization of UI terminologies was presented at Technical Communication Symposium 2001.
CRX Project
Holding of the CRX Forum 2001
Held CRX Forum 2001 to report on the achievements of the activities so far and to determine the future course of activities. Invited guests from various sectors of society for the panel discussion. Published the revised brochures introducing the CRX Project for the Forum.

Publication of Guidelines Ver.3.0
Released and distributed "CRX Project User Interface Guidelines Ver.3.0" on the website.
Presentation for Japan Ergonomics Society
Presented the outline of the activities at the Conference of Japan Ergonomics Society Kanto Branch.
Trial Session of the products between the four CRX companies was conducted
As a part of activity of Result Evaluation WG, MFP of each company was put together.  Designers from the four CRX companies were able to compare usability by touching actual products.

Relaunched the Web site
It was relaunched to deal with user screen readers for home page of CRX Project.
Conducted General User Evaluation Meeting
It was conducted Usability Evaluation to general users as Result Verification WG.
It was evaluated UI consistency between products of the four CRX companies.

Published The Guidelines Ver.3.1
Revised version of CRX User Interface Guidelines Ver.3.1 was published.
Convened The 1st Design Shared
Design Shared to quest possibility of CRX Project was convened.  Designers of three companies apart from companies dealing with office products were invited.  Each of them provided presentation, which was focused on “Usability and Formative” based on their products.
Published The Guidelines Ver.3.2
CRX User Interface Guidelines Ver.3.2 was published.

Published The Guidelines Ver.4.0
After reviewing the whole page contexture, CRX User Interface Guidelines Ver.4.0 was published.
Cross Talk 2005
Future of the project and aspect of its activities were discussed in free style by the four CRX companies.
Presentation in JEITA Universal Design Forum was conducted
Activities and issues of CRX Project in the past 10 years and MFP Panel WG were presented as case example of 2005.

Published The Guidelines Ver.4.0 in English
CRX User Interface Guidelines Ver.4.0 in English was published.
Introduced case example of CRX activity at the conference of IAUD
CRX activity as case example of Universal Design was presented at The 2nd International Conference for Universal Design in Kyoto 2006.

Meeting to report evaluation result of long-term monitoring was conducted
The meeting was held to report evaluation result by users who have long-term experience to use printers of CRX companies at their offices.
Design Shared 2007
Introduced activity of each GW and case example of design development by each company.
Workshop for UI Design was conducted
The workshop in training style by external experts was conducted, which as focused on a purpose of communication and stimulation for each CRX participant.

Presentation was made at “Japanese Society For The Science Of Design”
It was about leaning communication of UI design by experienced-base, relating with previous year’s Workshop between CRX companies.
Information sharing with “Association For Electric Home Appliances” was conducted
Information regarding formulation of CRX Guidelines, its background and operation were shared with “Association For Electric Home Appliances”.
Design Shared 2008
Each company introduced case example of product design and its management.
Cross Talk 2008
It was conducted to improve communication between designers.  They had free discussion about visiting each show room.

UI Design Workshop
The 2nd workshop in training style by external experts was conducted, which was focused on a purpose of communication and stimulation for each CRX participant.
